“Who even is Paul?”

-K. V.

Paul Oh is a mixed Malaysian-Chinese writer and printer with a focus on conceptual work which explores intersectional identity. Collaborative approaches sit at the core of Paul’s ethos, since he views artistic work and education as foundational to community development.

Formerly based in the Bay Area, where he primarily worked as an intern for the CODEX Foundation, Paul is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing and Book Arts at the University of Utah.

“I printed this for 90 cents at Kinko’s.”

I started working as a letterpress printer in 2021 as a poster printer at the Press at Colorado College. Since the start, I’ve been enamored with printing’s demands of my attention from the level of the pica or single point, to the scale of room-filling industrial machinery. Letterpress doesn’t forgive a neglect of context easily, which is satisfying to me as I work through parallels and juxtaposition.

“Writing? That’s a nice hobby.”
